GARY DEIRMENDJIAN featured in ‘One Past Liverpool’

October 10, 2019

One Past Liverpool marks the 25th anniversary of Casula Powerhouse as an arts centre and its celebrates its transformation. The Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre has commissioned a group of artists to create a new work by engaging with the centre’s extensive archive of its many projects. By displaying works from its history alongside the new commissions, conversations and concerns that have been responded to throughout the history of the centre are pulled into its present space and displays its growth.
One Past Liverpool reveals how Casula Powerhouse has always been a key player in conversations about how ‘this place’ (our building, Liverpool and Western Sydney) represents itself and challenges those same ideas. Gary Deirmendjian’s 2014 work ‘Matyr’ is exhibited among other artists such as; Idil Abdullahi, Robyn Backen, Diego Bonetto, Rebecca Brady, Michael Butler, Christine Dean, Gary Deirmendjian, Suzanne Everett, Rew Hanks, Joanne Hoppett, Jamie James, Matthew James, Michael Kempson, Hussam Khadhr, Yvonne Koolmatrie, Suzanne Lyons-Jones, Tin Nguyen, Raquel Ormella, Prins, Eugenia Raskopoulos, Joanne Saad, Gina Sinozich, Shireen Taweel, George Tillianakis, My Le Thi, Arthur Trindall, and Judy Watson.
The show runs from the 28th of September to the 10th of November, 2019.
