LUCAS DAVIDSON ‘Casual Forces’ Exhibition at Maitland Regional Art Gallery

Lucas Davidson’s ‘Casual Forces’ is currently on display at Maitland Regional Art Gallery until 23 June 2019. Toying with geometric shapes, repetition and scale, ‘Casual Forces’ aims to challenge viewer perception. As the viewer moves around the work, site-lines fall in and out of alignment and brightly coloured lines slip between surfaces. Suspended double-sided mirrors warp and extend the space around them, allowing multiple perspectives to occur simultaneously. The work’s engagement with sight, balance and spatial awareness invites a slower kind of looking that places emphasis on the present moment.
