KATIE WEST Review: ‘Clearing’ at TarraWarra Museum of Art

May 3, 2019

Katie West is exhibiting new work at the TarraWarra Museum of Art until 19 May 2019. Her meditative and multi-sensory installation ‘Clearing’ focuses on forging a human connection with and within the natural environment.

A recent review featured in un Magazine looks at the calm, quiet aura that this installation brings to life. Katie uses soft textiles and audio recordings to create a space for reflection, anchored in an indigenous sensitivity to natural materials sourced from local regions and featuring texts by indigenous writers including Kerry Arabena, Aunty Joy Murphy Wandin and Bruce Pascoe.

DMG will be holding a solo show of Katie’s work later this year from 18 July – 10 August 2019.
