ChloĆ© Wolifson writes about Katie West and innovative textile art for the Sydney Morning Herald, commenting on her work ‘Clearing’ is “placed with quiet intent. Drapes hang softly but deliberately, objects and books await their next set of hands, and cushions invite the visitor to take a seat.”

Wolifson goes on to explain that West is a Yindjibarndi woman who “investigates ways to practice custodianship of land when it is still subject to colonisation, and has explored meditation as a method of decolonising the self.”
