JANET LAURENCE ‘Continuous Refle(a)ction’ at the Beijing Riverside Art Museum

May 11, 2019

Janet Laurence has been invited to participate in the exhibition Continuous Refle(a)ction at the Beijing Riverside Art Museum, opening on 25 May. This exhibition invites outstanding artists from all over the world to discuss the topic of environmental protection, acting as both a reflection on human impact through the perspectives of contemporary art and inciting reaction through a program of talks and events.

“‘Sacred Green Series’ is part of an ongoing series where I have been looking at and exploring trees and their worlds; the biological, the psychological and the political. Trees are reduced to an economic resource by governments around the world, which – alongside climate change – is threatening our natural world. How can we bring the vital necessity and being of trees to attention? How can they regain their sacredness? We need urgently to bring the importance of trees into our future for the survival of a healthy planet.”
