Gregor Schneider in ’50 Years Avantgarde’ at the Kunsthalle Bremen, Germany

May 27, 2018

The legendary Cabinet for Contemporary Art in Bremerhaven is looking back on its long history of exhibiting innovative and experimental artists since 1967 in the exhibition ’50 Jahre Avantgarde’ (50 Years Avantgarde). Gregor Schneider features in this group show at the Kunsthalle in Bremen, which explores the posters, letters and other ephemera made by artists for the Cabinet between the 1960s and 1980s. One of Schneider’s most celebrated (and haunting) installations ‘Totes Haus ur, Rheydt’ was realised at the Cabinet in 1999 and 2000, where the artist re-built complete rooms within the walls of the gallery.

Curator Eefke Kleimann will be holding a talk this Sunday 27 May at 3PM and the exhibition itself is open until 19.08.2018 at the Kunsthalle Bremen, Germany.
