GARY DEIRMENDJIAN Judge of 2020 Fivex Art Prize

November 1, 2019

Gary Deirmendjian has been a key instigator of the 2020 Fivex Art Prize and has been announced as a judge on the selection panel. The Prize is a new annual award in Australia for digital billboard art, highlighting the dynamic relationship between contemporary art and urban street culture. Located prominently in the heart of Melbourne opposite Flinders St Station, the Prize is open to all image-based proposals and hopes to re-imagine and re-enchant the billboard genre.

Sponsored by Australia’s leading digital billboard company, QMS Media, the Fivex Foundation invites artists to submit one or more works specially created for two LED advertising billboards – a horizontal corner ‘wrap’, and a vertical ‘podium’ – located at the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth streets in the center of Melbourne, Australia.

Showcased at designated intervals among commercial advertising content, the artworks will surprise and excite the thousands of Melbournians who pass the iconic billboards daily.

  • Entry fee: AU$30 (includes GST) per entry
  • Entries close Monday 20 January 2020, 11pm AEDT
  • Winning artworks announced and exhibited in March 2020

More details and the entry form can be accessed through the Fivex Art Prize website.
