Gary Deirmendjian installation at the Australian Design Centre

February 14, 2019

Gary Deirmendjian has installed an immersive artwork within the decommissioned Chapel of the former St Margaret’s Hospital, Surry Hills, designed by architect Ken Woolley. Capitalising on the bold but simple lines of this circular structure, Gary has drawn sweeping vectors across the space with bleached wool. Gary was invited to respond to this introspective site by Object Gallery’s Australian Design Centre, titling the intervention ‘link – woolley’.
