EMMA FIELDEN ‘Movers and Makers’ program at Parramatta and Rydalmere Artists Studios

Parramatta Artists’ Studios (PAS) will hold its fifth Movers and Makers open day, an annual industry day for artists and art lovers on Saturday 25 May. Emma Fielden will be presenting a newly commissioned video installation ‘Andromeda and The Milky Way’, documenting an action performed by Emma and Lizzie Thomson.

Running from 10AM-6PM, the program gives visitors an insight into the vibrant practices of PAS residents and gives artists the opportunity to get advice from industry professionals on how they can build successful careers.

DMG Gallery Manager Alanna Irwin will also be participating in the panel discussion ‘Beyond the Stable’ alongside Samantha Ferris (Galerie pompom) and Rhianna Walcott (Artereal Gallery), moderated by Kate Britton (Art Month). This panel opens up a conversation about the different ways that DMG and other commercial galleries are supporting emerging and experimental practices beyond our artist stables through curated group shows, residency programs and prizes.

In addition, artists will be able to meet key curatorial staff from leading arts organisations including Artbank and Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre through the industry program One Plus One.
