Clemens Krauss is currently exhibiting a suite of paintings in the 14th edition of the Curitiba Biennial in Brazil. His thickly-applied layers of oil across multiples canvases carve out groups of people from vertiginous angles. This fits within the psychology of the Biennial theme ‘Open Borders’, pushing beyond both social and physical boundaries. Curated by Adolfo Montejo Navas and Tereza de Arruda, the Biennial occupies hundreds of spaces in Curitiba, including state museums, galleries and public spaces.
