Catherine O’Donnell’s drawing ‘Still Lives’ has been selected as the winner of the 2021 KAAF Art Prize! ⁣⁣

Catherine’s drawing ‘Still Lives’ depicts an everyday brick facade from Sydney’s Inner Western suburbs. Through attention to detail and storytelling, she reframes this familiar urban architecture in search of humanity, history, and politics of a place. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
“Using minimalism, I isolate these modest buildings from their contexts and represent only their structure to explore their compositional potential and underlying symmetry, striving to offer a renewed vision of these landscapes, often seen as bleak.”⁣⁣
