Marion Borgelt features in ‘Chromophilia’ at Wollongong Art Gallery. This exhibition connects artworks across varying mediums through colour. With everything from luscious leafy greens, to vibrant punches of yellow and red, ‘Chromophilia’ presents a full spectrum of hues and a distinctly optical appeal. Borgelt’s rhythmic, circular work involves many layers of folded handmade paper in black and vivid red.
The exhibition is open until the 29.07.18.
Marion Borgelt has been invited as the inaugural artist to exhibit in the beautiful Bligh Voller Neil-designed gallery of Allens’ Corporate headquarters in Melbourne. In this solo exhibition Maria Poulos, curator for Allens national art collection writes of Marion’s work: ‘Sensual and cerebral her works are at once playful and intellectual, hypnotic and systematic in their imaginative manipulations of abstract pattern, optical implication, intervention, interpolation and magic.
