ANDREW ROGERS Solo show ‘Evolution’ at Deakin University Art Gallery

March 21, 2019

Andrew Rogers will be the subject of a major survey show at the Deakin University Art Gallery titled ‘Evolution: From Maquettes to Major Sculptures 1996-2019’. Andrew’s works consistently begin with an idea that is brought to life in a maquette, whether it be one of the massive stone structures for the largest contemporary land art undertaking in the world, or a large-scale public sculpture in metal. This exhibition explores that journey of his artworks from maquette to major sculpture, placing the maquettes in conversation with installation images of large-scale public works, which can be found across Australia and internationally in prominent public and private collections.

‘Evolution: From Maquettes to Major Sculptures 1996-2019’ opens at Deakin University Art Gallery on Wednesday 10 April at 6PM and continues until 17 May 2019.
